For those who participate in any of our intensive outpatient programs (IOP) or partial hospitalization programs (PHP) here at Grace Counseling, we’ve created an Alumni program that is 100% free for life. It’s a way for clients to stay connected and give and get support as they pursue a life of sobriety.

When individuals complete treatment for substance use disorder, having resources available afterward and trusted faces to turn to can be just what’s needed to avoid relapse. Similarly, after going through treatment for mental health issues, being part of a wider community of peers who have gone through the same issues can give individuals purpose and belief that they can stay healthy and help others.

Grace Counseling Alumni Program

Even when individuals complete a treatment program, they still need help and resources to maintain their sobriety and keep their mental health positive. Addiction is a chronic disease, but with the right support can be managed. Mental health is something that requires regular attention, just like one’s physical health does. Some clients can continue to maintain their health or sobriety on their own, but many feel that our alumni program gives them a leg up on staying on the path of wellness.

Here at Grace Counseling, we have a dedicated alumni coordinator who is in recovery. They plan events, attend weekly meetings, conduct periodic check-ins, and most importantly, develop relationships with every one of our alumni. There’s always someone you can turn to at every stage of treatment with us.

The Alumni Coordinator is there as a resource for you, whether you are looking for community resources or need someone who has “been there” to talk to. We do this for your continued success, and that’s it. We want to see you sober, healthy, and successful in achieving your goals.

Community Support

Being a part of a group of people who have been through the same stuff, whether substance abuse or mental health treatment, is empowering, encouraging, and rewarding. Empowering because you get to continue to learn new skills and practice the ones you already have. Encouraging because there is no judgment here, all of our alumni want you to be successful. Rewarding because you get to encourage those who are struggling as well. Be a part of this community with us.

When you join our alumni program, you get support in several different ways. First, you get emotional support. When life gets difficult and difficult to cope with, you’ll always have someone you can talk to who is going through/has gone through the same things. You also get resources. We’ll do whatever we can to make sure you are getting the help you need to stay sober.

In addition to occasional awesome events, we have weekly meetings to get together and talk about what’s going on in our lives. Just adding this meeting to your routine can help you avoid falling into those old patterns. It’s good to keep reminding yourself of why this life change is worth it and to have it be another anchor in your week.

Become an Ambassador

If you graduate from one of our substance use intensive outpatient programs or partial hospitalization programs, you will have the option to apply to become a Grace Counseling Ambassador.

As an ambassador, you get to be a resource to those currently in our treatment programs by co-facilitating to help others in their sobriety journey or meet someone at a meeting who may be nervous going their first time. It’s also helpful to be around the material for your growth. You also will continue to be randomly drug tested to help keep you accountable. These are 100% free as long as you are an Ambassador.
