For those who participate in any of our Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs), we created an Alumni program that is 100% free for life. We know that an IOP isn’t a silver bullet and that everyone still needs help and resources after they graduate. We have a dedicated alumni coordinator who is in recovery and who plans events, attends weekly meetings, conducts periodic check ins and most importantly develops relationships with every one of our alumni. The Alumni Coordinator is there as a resource for you whether you are looking for community resources or just need someone who has “been there” to talk to. We do this for your continued success and that’s it. We want to see you sober, healthy, and successful in achieving your goals.
Be in community.
Being a part of a group of people who have been through the same stuff is empowering, encouraging, and rewarding. Empowering because you get to continue to learn new skills and practice the ones you already have. Encouraging because there is no judgement here, all of our alumni want you to be successful. Rewarding because you get to encourage those who are struggling as well. Come be a part of this community with us.
When you join our alumni program, you get support in a number of different ways. First, you get emotional support. When life gets difficult and it’s difficult to cope, you’ll always have someone you can talk to who is going through/has gone through the same things. You also get resources. We’ll do whatever we can to make sure you are getting the help you need to stay sober.
Something for your routine.
In addition to occasional awesome events, we have weekly meetings to get together and talk about what’s going on in our lives. Just by adding this meeting to your routine can help you avoid falling into those old patterns. It’s good to keep reminding yourself of why this life change is worth it and to have it be another anchor in your week.
Become an Ambassador.
If you graduate from one of our substance use IOPs, you will have the option to apply to become a Grace Counseling Ambassador. As an ambassador, you get to be a resource to those who are currently in our IOP by co-facilitating the substance use IOP to help others in their sobriety journey or meeting someone at a meeting who may be nervous going their first time. It’s also helpful to be around the material for your own growth. You also will continue to be randomly drug tested to help keep you accountable, these are 100% free as long as you are an Ambassador.
